CIDS 1.2 release 28 Oct 1998:

• The Database to Database collocation option was removed from the collocation page. Database to Database collocation can be achieved by performing a CIDS extraction in a database of interest and performing a File to Database collocation on the resultant file and a secondary database of interest, or by performing extractions in both databases of interest, and performing a File to File collocation on the resultant files.
• An internally identified stacking problem restricted to netCDF variables of 3 dimensions was corrected.
• Primary and secondary collocation filenames were restored following the discovery of a backward incompatibility issue in the netCDF libraries. NetCDF no longer support whitespace in attribute names.

CIDS 1.1 update 10 Feb 1998:

• The CIDS AVHRR visualization program was modified to correct an imagery inversion problem for NOAA_14 data, to improve the aspect ratio of resultant images, and to apply a more readliy visible color table to the radiance data.

CIDS 1.1 released 27 Jan 1998:

• A new visualization program for original AVHRR imagery stored in CIDS has been added to the CIDS homepage in place of the old visualization link.
• The Delete Files and Start Over link on the Results page now deletes all of the files in the users results storage area.
• The preview page platform-instrument string display no longer appends random characters to the end of the BALDRIGE cruise platform-instrument pair names.
• Password protection for the CIDS transfer page has been corrected.

CIDS 1.0 released 01 Nov 1997:

• A backend to CIDS extraction was added to provide several options for quick-look plots. These options do not plot multi-dimensional data. These options are only available for the INDOEX databases, and all databases that postdate this release.
• An explanatory error message replaces the former internal server error message resulting from an attempted extraction over a valid range of data, in which the data are too sparse to extract.
• Data extraction has been corrected to refrain from returning excess data in the case of a user requet falling between the first and last data points.
• Platform/Instrument/Variable names no longer repeat in the CIDS selection lists.
• All CEPEX specific default target ranges have been replaced with global target ranges.
• Geograhic Bounds may now be specified, and wil be accepeted as, decimal degrees.
• The Data System search engine has been modified to search for exact platform/instrument/variable triplet matches, thus eliminating the former difficulty with the extraction of similarly named variables from the same PLATFORM_INSTRUMENT pair, and the excess extraction of non-requested variables of the same name as requested variables for an alternate PLATFORM_INSTRUMENT pair.
• The ability to view the header of any file listed was added to the CIDS browse utility.
• The collocation module has been modified to name the output file based on user selected inputs in all cases, and to permit the user to modify the output filename.
• An experimental interface to build data files from a collocated file has been added to the CIDS frontpage.
• The cdf2* utility routines have been updated. Readme files are now included with the downloadable source.
• Both LLT and DATA files are now listed on the data download page.

CIDS 0.4.1 released 13 May 1997:

• The cids browse function now reflects proper longitudes and latitudes. In 0.4 they were inverted.
• CIDS can now extract data from the month of February.
• The transfer data function now works for data sets collected past 05 09 1995 06 13.

CIDS 0.4. released Jun 1995:

• The collocation feature now allows several new types of collocation:
  • database to database
  • database to previously extracted file
  • previously extracted file to previously extracted file
• The alphanumeric interface is defunct.
• The option to transfer entire data sets via ftp is not currently functional, but might be in the future.
