cdf2idl does not work for certain variables/attributes
The cdf2idl CIDS netCDF data file reader does not work for
variable/attribute names starting with a number AND containing dashes.
- The validateName function in the cdf2idl routine
was repaired 17Feb 1998.
Importing CIDS data into FERRET
CIDS data are inversely dimensioned when imported into
FERRET.
- The FERRET visualization package adheres to the
COARDS NetCDF standard. CIDS standard format does not
comply with this standard. CIDS standard dimensional order
is the inverse of COARDS standard. The user must therefore
invert the data dimensions within FERRET or pre-apply a
conversion program to the CIDS netCDF files before passing
the files to FERRET.
cdf2c makefile does not work on DEC ALPHA workstation
The cdf2c visualization tool makefile does not work on a DEC ALPHA.
- The makefiles provided with all cdf2*.tar files must
be modified to reflect the proper compiler/compiler flags
for your system. The makefiles provided are optimized for
the IRIX 5.3 O/S.M/li>
- To make the cdf2*.tar files you must have a local copy
of the netCDF library. The source code for the netCDF
library can be obtained via anonymous ftp to
ftp.unidata.ucar.edu. The necessary files are located
in the /pub/netcdf directory.
CIDS Transfer Function
The CIDS transfer function does not work for the INDOEX database.
- The transfer function was fixed 04 Aug 1997.
Network Error: This page contains no data appears during extraction
and/or collocation.
The web server timed out before the extraction/collocation process completed.
- The web server timeout was increased to two hours on
01 Nov 1997. However, this error may still occur if
the data you are extracting and/or collocating are
large. The process is still running within the CIDS
system, return later to view your results.
Data extraction failure in INDOEX_CRUISE_109 database.
Extraction of data from the RESEARCH_VESSEL_SAGAR_KANYA-
HIGH_VOLUME_BULK_AEROSOL_FILTER_SAMPLER dataset in the
INDOEX_CRUISE_109 database fails. The data from this
platform-instrument pair were entered into CIDS improperly.
- The data were corrected for use in CIDS. Geographical
extractions will be made based on the latitude and
longitude midpoint of data collection.
