 Meeting Location.
The NASA Ceres Meeting will be held in 4500 Hubbs Hall of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). This building is within walking distance (approximately 20 minutes) from local hotels (approximately one mile from the Hotel La Jolla and Andrea Villa Inn; approximately 1.25 miles from the Sea Lodge). 4500 Hubbs Hall is located near the center of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography campus (regional map) on the west side of La Jolla Shores Drive across from the SIO Library(site map, alphabetical legend, numerical legend).

    Shuttle Information to UCSD from the San Diego International Airport.
    Commercial shuttles are available from the San Diego Airport at the shuttle islands across from the main entrances. These shuttle islands are accessible via short (approximately 200 ft.) overpasses from the second floors of the main terminals.

    Two courtesy telephones are provided next to the Baggage Claim/Information Board in all airport terminals to contact shuttle services. Approximate fares are $12 per person/one-way. Advance reservations are not necessary except for those persons in need of a wheelchair accessible van.

    Note: The Hotel La Jolla, Andrea Villa Inn and the Sea Lodge do not provide shuttle service from the airport to their respective hotels. However, these hotels will arrange a shuttle from their establishment to the airport (please provide advance notice of at least one day, if possible).

    Directions to Birch Aquarium Parking Lot
    Below are directions to the Birch Aquarium Parking Lot at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego.

    From south of SIO
    Take La Jolla Shores Drive north.
    Turn right on Downwind Way (before pedestrian bridge).
    Turn right at fork and continue up the hill.
    After stop sign, go straight across intersection into Birch Aquarium parking lot.
    Parking costs $3.00/day (obtain permit at entrance, pay when exit lot).

    Directions to 4500 Hubbs Hall from the Birch Aquarium Parking Lot
    4500 Hubbs Hall is a short walk (10 minutes) downhill from the Birch Aquarium.

    Proceed west from the parking lot on Downwind Way.
    Cross La Jolla Shores Drive (main north/south road).
    Descend wooden stairs on forward right to Biological Grade (small street through SIO campus).
    Turn left on Biological Grade for approximately 300 yards.
    Take stairs on right directly across from SIO Library to 4500 Hubbs Hall (borders on Biological Grade, slightly below street level).
